Visit Crimdon Beach
Crimdon Beach on the Durham Coast, is a unspoilt sandy beach backed sand dunes and a nature reserve. Heading South, is Crimdon Dene Beach and Crimdon South Beach, towards Steetley Pier in Hartlepool.
Great for families Crimdon beach is a designated bathing beach popular with swimmers in the Summer with holiday parks backing the beach.
Crimdon Dene and Crimdon South Beach
Travel a little further south and you come to Crimdon Dene Beach and the Crimdon South Beach. Here it becomes quieter and is backed by dunes and the Hartlepool Golf Course.
The beach and Durham Coast National Nature Reserve are popular with nature lovers and birdwatchers and are an important breeding ground for the Little Tern, one of the UK’s rare sea birds.
Dogs are allowed on Crimdon Beach, this beach is dog friendly all year round. There is plenty of space for them to roam around.

There is parking on the road close to the beach, off Coast Road, by Dunes Cafe.
Nearest Train
Hartlepool Station
This beach is off the A1806.
If you are driving from Hartlepool, take the A179, then the A106 Coast road to Crimdon.
