Visit Barafundle Beach
Sitting just above Stackpole Head, beautiful Barafundle beach is large golden sandy bay on the Pembrokeshire coast. Barafundle has regulary made ‘best beaches’ lists over the years and has a wonderful natural backdrop.
Accessible only via a half-mile walk from the nearest car park at Stackpole Quay, Barafundle Bay offers a sense of seclusion that enhances its charm. This lack of direct road access ensures a peaceful environment, free from the usual beachside crowds
Although there are no facilities on the beach, its secluded charm, dog-friendly space, and opportunities for swimming, kayaking, and picnicking make it a must-visit destination for beachgoers seeking a magical spot. The calm and clear waters make it suitable for swimming and snorkeling. However, there are no lifeguards on duty, so visitors should exercise caution and be mindful of sea conditions.
Pack the swimwear, take a picnic as well as the bucket and spade and head to this beach for a great day out. Dogs are welcome year-round at Barafundle Bay, making it an ideal spot for pet owners to enjoy a day by the sea with their furry companions.
To get to the beach, you have to walk along the Pembrokeshire coastal path for about half a mile. The nearest car park is at Stackpole Quay. (Wear comfortable walking shoes for the trek from the car park to the beach)
