Visit Joss Bay
Award-winning Joss Bay is a popular sandy beach in Broadstairs on the Kent Coast. This north east facing beach is backed by cliffs, and has facilities for families. Stretching for about 200 meters, it is sheltered by steep chalk cliffs and features facilities such as a beach café, toilets, and ample parking.
Great for surfing
The beach is renowned as Kent’s best surfing spot, home to the longest-established surf school in the area, offering lessons and equipment rentals. The Joss Bay Surf School offering professional surf lessons and SUP paddleboarding for people of all ages and abilities.
There are RNLI lifeguards on duty throughout the summer season.
For a more relaxing afternoon there is a cafe on the beachfront and deckchairs for hire.
Did you Know? The Bay is named after Joss Snelling, the notorious smuggler and head of the Callis Court Gang.
Dogs are prohibited on the beach from 10am to 6pm between May 1st and September 30th. However, dogs are allowed on the beach outside of these hours and throughout the rest of the year.
