Visit Hunmanby Gap
Hunmanby Gap beach is just south of Filey between Primrose Rose holiday park, and Reighton Sands, on the Yorkshire coast. This beach is slightly off the beaten track, backed by rural farmland.
The beach features shallow tidal pools that form when the tide goes out. These pools warm up in the sun, making them safe to paddle without the worry of strong currents or large waves.
Hunmanby Gap Beach tends to be relatively quiet even during peak season, making it an appealing destination for those seeking a more tranquil beach experience.
You will see some people kitesurfing and or even flying a kite.
Hunmanby Gap Beach features some remnants of World War II, notably intact pillboxes that served as coastal defenses during the war. These structures were part of a larger network of fortifications built along the Yorkshire coast in response to the threat of invasion.
The beach is particularly popular among dog walkers, as dogs are allowed year-round.
There is a lovely (dog friendly! ) cafe on the beach for a hot meal, snacks or a takeaway.
