The 2012 Holiday Guide for Eastbourne, the UK’s sunniest place, is available to download as an app for the first time this year offering visitors the chance to book a break to the coast on the go!

The new brochure, which boasts a bold design and stunning local photography, is available to download via the Official UK Visitor Guides app from the App Store and compatible with the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Visitors can also view it as an e-brochure at VisitEastbourne.com or order a copy by post – meaning it has never been easier to plan a visit to Eastbourne!

Featuring brand new photography with hero sized images taken by local Eastbourne photographers, including Will Gudgeon, Mark Jarvis, Jonathan Webley and Jean-François Phillips, tourism bosses hope that the multimedia guide will prove a hit with new audiences.

Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism, Cllr Neil Stanley said “We are very excited to launch our new 2012 Holiday Guide across a range of platforms and hope that the new e-brochure and app versions will allow us to reach new audiences and entice them to Eastbourne over the coming year. We are delighted to have had the chance to work with local photographers to source new images for this year’s Guide, showcasing brilliant talent on our doorstep and offering a fresh look at Eastbourne.

“With 2012 promising to be a significant year for British tourism, Eastbourne certainly has a packed programme of events and a wealth of activities to entertain visitors to our sunny destination!”

Brand new for 2012, the Eastbourne Holiday Guide contains a double page spread highlighting Eastbourne as the gateway to the South Downs National Park. Visitors can plan their journey across the South Downs Way National Trail and discover ancient woodlands, river valleys and jaw-dropping coastal views.

The 2012 Guide also contains a new spread focusing on Eastbourne’s strong culture and heritage offering, Now & Then. With research by VisitBritain revealing that history, heritage and culture are the most popular reasons to visit the UK, the Guide highlights Eastbourne’s Towner Contemporary Art Museum, Napoleonic Redoubt Fortress, cutting edge Birley Centre and Blue Plaques dedicated to literary greats such as Lewis Carroll and Mabel Lucie Attwell.

Visitors can find details of more than 100 Eastbourne accommodation providers in the Guide, including England’s only 5-star seaside hotel as well as a new glamping option for 2012 with the chance to experience traditional tipi living with Big Sky Tipi Holidays.
