Whitsand Bay

Visit Whitsand Bay

Whitsand Bay is a long stretch of sandy beach, that runs from Rame Head to Portwrinkle. The area is popular with walkers of The South West Coast Path which winds its way along the cliff tops.

Whitsand Bay is known for surfing spot, although there are no facilities, and access to the beach can be difficult. There are RNLI Lifeguards on duty along the beach between May and October, as there can be dangerous currents.

Look out for the red flags at the western end of Whitsand Bay beach, which is closed during Tregantle Fort firing range operation.

This beach is dog friendly all year round.
