Visit Borth y Gest Beach
Borth y Gest is a small sandy bay in a pretty little harbour village between Porthmadog and Black Rock Sands. In fact, there are a few small beaches and little coves here.
At high tide the beach here disappears, but there are other nearby spots to go.
There is a carpark and bus stop on the seafront on Seaview Terrace and Mersey St. Here you will see a sign saying ‘To the Beach’. Follow the path, past the beautiful Saint Cyngar’s Church to find the hidden coves.
Coastal Wildlife
If you are looking for wildlife, you will find birds, butterflies and the even seals. There is a sign with pictures pointing out the different species you can spot. Birds commonly in the area are Oystercatchers, Pied Flycatcher, White Throat, Skylarks, Curlews. The wonderfully named Purple Hairstreaked Butterfly and Small Heath Butterfly.
There is local holiday accommodation with charming guesthouses and holiday cottages available.
