Charming Low Newton is a golden sandy beach on the Northumberland coast. It stretches south towards stunning Dunstanburgh Castle.

In the village by the beach you can stop in at The Ship Inn for some great pub food and drink. A little further up the road (a bit of a hill) is the Low Newton carpark, with pay and display.

The beach is backed by the National Trust – Embleton and Newton Links nature reserve a haven for nature lovers. The Northumberland Coast Path takes walkers through here, as well as St Oswald’s Way long-distance walking route.

This lovely sweeping sandy beach is popular with windsurfers and sailing when the conditions are right.
