Visit Winterton on Sea Beach
Charming Winterton on Sea beach is situated in a unspoilt seaside resort on the East coast of Norfolk. Despite being close to Great Yarmouth, Winterton Beach tends to be less crowded. Even during peak times, the vast sandy area allows for a sense of space and solitude.
It is an ideal spot for a quiet and relaxing seaside holiday as there are no amusement arcades or souvenir shops. Just a stunning beach, with miles of sand dunes. A bird watchers and ramblers paradise, the sand dunes are designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, SSSI and SAC.
Winterton Beach is home to a growing colony of grey seals, especially during the winter months when they come ashore to give birth. Visitors can often see seal pups on the beach, making it a popular spot for wildlife enthusiasts.
Did you Know? Along the coast near Winterton it is possible to see grey seals swimming in the sea.
The beach is part of the Norfolk Coast Path, offering scenic walking routes along the coast and through the dunes.
Stop in at the Winterton Dunes Beach Cafe for tea and snacks.
This beach is dog friendly all year round however it is part of the Winterton Dunes National Nature Reserve so dogs must be kept under control in the nesting season.
