Visit Freshwater West
Freshwater West beach, located on the Pembrokeshire coastal path, is a must-visit destination for surfers and beach lovers alike. This south-west facing beach offers excellent surfing opportunities, with long and stunning sunsets that are sure to take your breath away. If you’re traveling with kids, the rock pools are an ace way to explore the beach’s diverse marine life.
Freshwater West is famous for more than just its natural beauty. Hollywood has used this location as the backdrop for several films, including Robin Hood and Harry Potter. The beach scenes in the 2010 Robin Hood film were shot here, while Dobby the House Elf’s famous grave can be found from the Harry Potter movies, with a huge memorial to Dobby located on the beach.
When you’re ready for a break from the waves, there’s a mobile cafe that serves refreshments on sunny days. Free and plentiful parking is available, although it’s recommended to arrive early or late to secure the best spots. Public toilets are also available, and during the summer months, there is an RNLI guard on duty for added peace of mind. Don’t miss the chance to experience Freshwater West’s magical scenery and legendary waves.
