Visit Marros Sands
Marros Sands on the Carmarthenshire coast, is a golden sandy south facing beach accessed by walking a small path leading to the sea. Be ready for a long uphill walk after your trip to the beach, as the descent from the road to the beach can be quite steep in places.
The western end features rocky outcrops and caves, with the remains of the Rover shipwreck from 1886. At low tide, you can see the remains of a submerged forest dating back 4,000 to 6,000 years, with tree stumps of alder, oak, and willow exposed.
The eastern end is a mix of pebbles and gravel, with steep cliffs providing stunning views and a sense of seclusion.
Before you go, remember a few things. The beach is a bit of a hike – about a mile from Marros village. Wear comfortable shoes. There are no lifeguards, so be careful if you decide to take dip. Also, some areas of the beach are clothing-optional.
