Finnygook Beach

Visit Finnygook Beach

Finnygook is a small south facing shingle beach, one of Portwrinkles two main beaches.

At low tide a sandy beach is exposed with rocky outcrops perfect for rockpooling. On the side of the beach you will find an old WWII Pill Box. Stop in and have a snack at the Jolly Roger beach café.

Fishing was once the main industry in Portwrinkle, and like many other small coves and beaches became involved with smuggling. Local legend says that the ghost of notorious smuggler Silas Finn still haunts the beaches of Portwrinkle.

This beach is dog friendly all year round.
