Visit Bigbury-on-Sea Beach
Along Devon’s south coastline, Bigbury-on-Sea is a huge sandy beach and a must-visit destination.
Bigbury beach is the perfect place for a family holiday, safe swimming and sandy beaches with views of spectacular Burgh Island. The beach is backed by low cliffs, and surrounded by an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), just south of the River Avon estuary.
Bigbury on sea is the largest beach in South Devon!
There are activities for all ages, including coastal walks, surfing, windsurfing and canoeing, and nearby Bigbury golf course.
At low tide a natural causeway emerges, inviting adventurers to cross on foot to Burgh Island. When the tide comes in, you can take the sea tractor and boat service across.
Dogs are restricted in the holiday months from May through to September.
