Visit Bantham Beach
Bantham Beach on the South Devon coast, backed by dunes at the mouth of the River Avon, is in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The sandy beach offers great views of Burgh Island and neighbouring Bigbury beach. This beach is best known for watersports, particularly surfing.
The water can get a little chilly, so grab a wetsuit and try body boarding, surfing or just enjoy a swim in the sea. There are lifeguards on duty and food vans available for a snack and refreshments.
There is plenty of parking here, although as with many beaches in the area, it is down a very narrow road. On a hot bank holiday weekend it can get very busy!

Bantham Beach Dogs Policy
Dogs are welcome at Bantham Beach, but seasonal restrictions apply.
Dogs are restricted on the main sands from 1 May to 30 September during peak daytime hours. Dogs are allowed year-round at the estuary ends, which gives plenty of walking space.
Leads are advised near the car park and access routes.
A brilliant winter beach for salty swims and sandy snouts.
