Visit Minehead Beach
One of Somersets popular beaches, Minehead beach is the perfect place for a family day our. The wide sandy beach and shallow water are perfect for building sandcastles and paddling in the sea.
Minehead is home to one of the three remaining Butlins Holiday Camps in the UK and the are plenty of sports and leisure activities here. It is the main attraction in town, with amusements for the entire family.
Minehead also has a wide variety of water sports, as well as as sailing and wind surfing.
Also a nature lovers destination, as it is the gateway to Exmoor National Park. There are lots of walks and stunning landscapes to explore. Minehead is the official starting point for the South West Coast Path. The full trail, which finishes in Poole, is 630 miles long.
It is also home to Somerset’s oldest golf course – the Minehead and West Somerset Golf Club.
Dogs are restricted on the beach between the Harbour and the Minehead and West Somerset Golf Club from May through September

Minehead Beach Dogs Policy
Dogs face a seasonal ban 1 May-30 Sep from Golf Club Groyne to Jubilee Cafe.
Off-season and the western/eastern ends are dog-friendly.
Leads required on the promenade. Butlin’s nearby has its own dog rules, so plan ahead for seaside stops.
