Visit West Beach
West Beach lies on the south-west side of Hayling Island. It’s more sheltered and feels relaxed. Shingle banks and dunes protect the shore.
At high tide the waters can get deep quickly with the shelving of the beaches, at low tide, a lagoon forms near the West Winner sandbank. This area is popular with families and water sports users.
Windsurfing, kitesurfing, and sailing are common. The beach is also good for picnics and short walks. West Beach is a designated a windsurfing area, (and windsurfing was invented here too!)
Parking is nearby. Dog access is seasonal. Early visits help avoid crowds in peak months.
