Gunner Point

Visit Gunner Point

Gunner Point Countryside Heritage Site on the South Western tip of Hayling Island has a wide open stretch of unspoilt beach with views over the harbour channel and out to the Solent. At low tide the sandy beach is a popular spot with families, walkers and fishermen.

This beach is backed by the Sinah Common, an area of Site of Special Scientific Interest that also forms part of the Hayling Golf Club.

The Golf club has a long history, built in 1899 by Fleetwood Sandeman a wine merchant and scholar. If you are a keen golfer and a nature lover this is the ideal course.

Walk northwards towards Ferry Beach and you will pass the The Hayling Ferry Sailing Club. There is a clubhouse and boat and SUP hire.

Then you will arrive at the Ferryboat Inn, a popular pub in a stunning waterside location.

Heading east round Gunner point is a popular kite surfing and windsurfing area, towards Hayling seafront.
