Lytham Beach

Visit Lytham Beach

The expanse of golden sands bring holiday makers to Lytham Beach in Lancashire each year. The beach is south facing overlooking the Ribble Estuary National Nature Reserve.

One of the beach’s most famous landmarks is the Lytham Windmill, which stands proudly on the seafront. This historic structure adds a unique charm to the landscape and is a popular spot for photos.

While swimming is not recommended near the estuary due to strong currents, the beach is suitable for various activities like kite surfing and windsurfing. Visitors can also enjoy leisurely walks or cycling along the promenade.

Behind the beach lies Lytham Green, a beautifully maintained grassy area ideal for picnics and outdoor activities. This area often hosts community events and festivals, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.

Fairhaven Lake is a wonderful place to visit when you’re at Lytham Beach. It is near the western side of the beach and is a beautiful setting for walks, wildlife watching, and relaxation.

Lytham is also a famous golf destination and there are four championship golf courses to enjoy.

Lytham Beach is dog-friendly, allowing pets to roam freely, except for a small section during the summer months (from Good Friday to September 30).
