Head north along the coast to Cockersand Abbey, a historical landmark with views out to Plover Scar lighthouse. You can walk out to Plover Scar Lighthouse, but it’s important to note that access depends on the tide.
Cockerham sands makes for a tranquil getaway while still being within reach of nearby towns like Blackpool and Lancaster.
If you are looking for some thrills there is a skydiving centre nearby in Cockerham, which is the longest-running parachute centre in the UK and offers tandem skydives from 15,000 feet, as well as facilities for experienced skydivers.
Cockerham Sands beach is dog-friendly! Dogs can enjoy the sandy shoreline and are free to roam.
