Workington Beach

Visit Workington Beach

Workington has a small beach near the mouth of the river and Workington dock areas. To the south of the harbour is a long sandy stretch backed by shingle and grassy banks.

The beach is suitable for various recreational activities, including walking, beachcombing, and enjoying the coastal scenery. It is also the starting point for the Sea-to-Sea Cycle Route (C2C), a popular cycling path that extends over the Pennines to Sunderland.

Workington Beach is dog-friendly. Dogs are allowed on the beach without any restrictions, making it a great spot for dog owners to enjoy time outdoors with their pets. Visitors can relax and explore the sandy and shingle areas while bringing their dogs along for walks and playtime.
