Shoebury East Beach

Visit Shoebury East Beach

Popular Shoebury East Beach on the Essex coast is a great beach for a family day out. The sandy beach is backed by a grassy area with a small row of beach huts (which are privately owned).

For the thrill-seekers, Shoebury East Beach is a designated watersports zone. It’s particularly well-known among kitesurfers and windsurfers, with the Essex Kitesurfing Club calling this beach home. The expansive shallow waters at low tide create perfect conditions for both beginners and experienced riders to catch the wind and ride the waves.

Families can enjoy the child-friendly atmosphere here. The shallow areas are great for little ones to splash around and try their hand at crabbing.

There’s even a paddling pool for safer water play. The grassy area behind the beach is perfect for picnics or for those who prefer to stay sand-free while enjoying the sea views.

Currently, dogs are not allowed on the beach from May 1 to September 30, but there are no restrictions in the autumn and winter months.
