South Tyneside Festival
This annual festival is the largest free summer festival in the North East and typically kicks off with a parade through the town. It culminates in events at Bents Park and includes performances along the Sandhaven Promenade. Expect street theatre, live music, and vibrant entertainment, making it a highlight of the summer season.

The Big Dippa
The Big Dippa is an exciting paddleboard racing event held at Whitley Bay Beach, typically in late August. The Big Dippa is scheduled for August 18, 2024. This date is part of the North Sea Weekender festival, which runs from August 17 to October 13, 2024.

Great North Bike Ride
The Great North Bike Ride takes you from Seahouses, a designated area of outstanding natural beauty, along the beautiful North Northumberland coastline.

Tynemouth Longboard Classic
A competitive event featuring men’s, women’s, and junior competitions for longboard surfers. Saturday, October 12 to Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Longsands Beach.

Seaside Market at Sandhaven Beach
On the beachfront at the Amphitheatre on Sandhaven beach the seaside market with live music and stalls by the sea.
