Visit Poppit Sands Beach

Poppit Sands Beach is a wide sandy beach on the southern bank of the River Teifi estuary, with great views of Cardigan island.

The beach is backed by dunes full of wildlife, and is a great base to explore the surrounding area.

Poppit Beach is actually the start of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path.

You can swim at Poppit Sands, the beach is safe for paddling about at low tide but there can be strong currents in the channel. There are lifeguards on duty here in the summer holidays as well as a RNLI lifeboat station.

Poppit Sands beach is also popular for watersports including, windsurfing, kayaking and surfing.

Access to the beach is easy with paid parking right behind the Lifeboat station.
