Visit Aberporth Beach
Aberporth Beach is a charming destination located in the village of Aberporth, Ceredigion, Wales. Known for its stunning natural beauty and family-friendly atmosphere, the beach is a popular spot for both locals and visitors.
Aberporth Beach consists of two sandy beaches, Dolwen Beach to the west and Dyffryn Beach to the east, separated by a small headland. At low tide, these beaches merge into one expansive sandy area.
The beach is ideal for a variety of water activities, including swimming, surfing, bodyboarding, paddleboarding, kayaking, and canoeing. Equipment rentals are available from local providers like FOSUP and The Water’s Edge Café.
Lifeguards patrol the beach daily from mid-June to early September, ensuring a safe environment for all beachgoers.
Aberporth is renowned for dolphin sightings, particularly bottlenose dolphins, which can often be seen from the beach or coastal paths. Other marine wildlife, such as seals and occasionally orcas, can also be spotted.
Dogs are allowed on Dyffryn Beach year-round. However, there are restrictions on Dolwen Beach from May 1 to September 30, when dogs are not permitted.
