Visit Pembrey Beach
Pembrey Beach, also known as Cefn Sidan Beach, is located on the south coast of Wales, in Carmarthen Bay. It is near the small village of Pendine, which gives the beach its name, with stunning views towards the Gower Peninsula and Tenby. Backed by dunes the beach is part of the Pembrey Country Park.
The beach stretches from dramatic cliffs at Gilman Point, to wide, flat sandy areas towards to Laugharne Sand. Pembrey, is the longest beach in Wales with over eight miles of sand to enjoy.
The beach is popular for swimming, surfing , and fishing, and is known for its clean water, having received the Blue Flag award. The beach is safe for bathing and there are lifeguards on duty from from 1st June to September 30th.
Surf Pembrey on the beachfront offers surfing lessons and equipment rentals. They cater to all skill levels, from beginners to more experienced surfers, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
After winter storms, exposed shipwrecks can sometimes be seen at low tide.
Accessible via the National Cycle Network Route 4, which runs along the coastline, making it a great option for cyclists and walkers looking to enjoy the scenic route.
Dogs are restricted from the main section of the beach from May 1 to September 30, but designated dog-friendly areas are available.
