Tavern Beach St Mawes

Visit Tavern Beach St Mawes

Between the town center and the historic St Mawes Castle, Tavern Beach offers a delightful slice of Cornish coastal beauty. This small, south-facing sandy beach is the perfect spot to soak in the picturesque views across the Carrick Roads towards Falmouth.

The beach is just below the Tresanton Hotel and is a popular family spot with wonderful views of St Mawes bay, and the 16th Century St Mawes castle. A safe bathing and swimming beach with clear clean water.

Located near the heart of St Mawes, you’ll find all the amenities you need just a short stroll away. Treat yourself to ice cream from a nearby shop, or enjoy a meal at one of the local cafes or restaurants after your beach day.

The scenic ferry service links St Mawes to Falmouth, making it easy for visitors to explore both sides of the Fal estuary. The crossing takes around 25 minutes and features outstanding views.
