Visit Pendower Beach
Pendower Beach is another hidden gem on the Roseland Peninsula in South West Cornwall. This expansive sandy beach backed by grassy dunes and scenic countryside. At low tide, Pendower reveals its full size, joining with neighboring Carne Beach to create over a mile of uninterrupted shoreline – perfect for long, leisurely walks or beach exploration.
For nature enthusiasts, Pendower is a treasure trove of discovery. The beach’s rock pools, exposed at low tide, offer hours of fascination for all ages. Keep your eyes peeled for the rich wildlife in the area – you might spot colorful butterflies fluttering by, a variety of birds soaring overhead, or even catch a glimpse of seals and dolphins playing offshore!
If you love a good walk, don’t miss the opportunity to stroll along the South West Coast Path, which runs along the beach, offering breathtaking views of the coastline.
There’s a pay-and-display car park nearby, and seasonal toilets are available (including an accessible toilet at Carne Beach open year-round). A word of advice: arrive early to secure a parking spot, especially during peak season. The approach road can be narrow with limited passing places, but the destination is well worth the journey!
