The beach’s Victorian Grand Pier, give a glimpse into the past. The pier, with its old-fashioned interior and amusement arcade games, provides a delightful dose of nostalgia for adults and an exciting exploration for children. Along the promenade, you’ll find numerous cafes serving beverages, snacks, and ice creams, perfect for refreshment during your beach day.

For families, Teignmouth Town Beach is particularly appealing. There’s a children’s play area, an adventure golf course, and a skate park. The calm waters are ideal for swimming and paddleboarding, while the sandy shore invites sunbathing, beach games, and sandcastle building. Deckchairs are available for hire, allowing for comfortable seaside relaxation.

For added safety, RNLI lifeguard service is provided from Whitsun to the first week in September.

It’s important to note some regulations: dogs are not permitted on the main beach between the slipway at Eastcliff and the lighthouse at the point from April 1 to September 30. However, they are allowed in other areas year-round. For water enthusiasts, watercraft are permitted but must use a marked access lane and are not allowed between the yellow marker buoys and the shoreline to protect bather safety.
