Charming Shoalstone beach along from Brixham Harbour is a small shingle and rock beach. Great for clambering on the rocks and depending on the tide having a paddle.

Outdoor Swimming Pool

Shoalstone Beach is best known for its historic outdoor seawater lido, one of the few remaining in the UK. Filled naturally by the tide, the pool provides safe, refreshing swimming regardless of sea conditions.

Follow the SouthWest Coast path from the Breakwater beach towards Berry head you will find a the lovely Shoalstone outdoor seawater pool. There is parking here, as well as facilities.

The surrounding shingle beach is family-friendly, with rockpools that reveal crabs, anemones, and small fish at low tide. Views stretch across Tor Bay toward Paignton and Torquay, making this a scenic and practical beach choice.

Shoalstone also acts as a gateway to Berry Head Nature Reserve, with coastal paths leading directly from the beach.

Dogs are welcome at at this beach all year round.

Dogs are allowed all year at Shoalstone Beach. They can enjoy the sea, but not the lido pool, no matter how tempting it looks.

This is a favourite with local dog walkers in every season. Expect plenty of polite tail-wags and muddy paws.
