Visit Sandy Bay Beach

Sandy Bay Beach, a stunning stretch of coastline nestled in Exmouth, South Devon. This award-winning, family-friendly beach offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and convenient amenities.

Located along the famous Jurassic Coast, Sandy Bay beach boasts soft, golden sand that stretches for about a mile. The beach is embraced by high cliffs, creating a picturesque and secluded atmosphere. At low tide, you can even walk along the sand all the way to Exmouth beach.

Enjoy swimming and water sports in the the clear waters, with the added safety of lifeguards during summer months. Explore the fascinating marine life in the rock pools at the far end of the beach. While not directly at Sandy Bay, the nearby Orcombe rocks are well-known for fossils.

While the beach is privately owned by Haven Holidays as part of Devon Cliffs Holiday Park, it’s open to the public. Access is via a steep pathway from the car park and café. The park offers ample parking, toilets, a café, and a children’s play area. You can also rent deckchairs and pedalos.

Note that dogs are not allowed on the beach between April 1st and October 31st. Also, be aware that the beach can get busy during summer due to its proximity to the holiday park and the city of Exeter.
