Visit Hallsands Beach
Hallsands Beach in South Devon is a beautiful spot, located in the South Hams Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) along Start Bay, between Beesands to the north and Start Point to the south.
The beach at North Hallsands is a quiet, unspoiled shingle stretch ideal for those seeking solitude, perfect for beachcombing, swimming (clear waters, but strong currents possible), kayaking, or simply enjoying the views across Start Bay.
At low tide, it connects to neighbouring Beesands (with more facilities like a pub and cafe). It’s part of the South West Coast Path, with excellent walks south to Start Point Lighthouse (tours available) or north along the bay.
Hallsands is most famous for the nearby ruins of the “lost village” of Hallsands, destroyed by the sea over a century ago.
