Visit Porthallow Beach

Porthallow Beach is a charming and relatively secluded beach located on the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall, near the village of Porthallow.

Known locally as Pr’alla beach, is small beach which is usually always quiet. At low tide, the beach reveals various rock pools that are perfect for exploring, making it a great spot for families and children to discover marine life.

The South West Coast Path Midway Marker is located here on Porthallow Beach. This marker signifies the halfway point of the entire South West Coast Path, which stretches for 630 miles along the coastline of Cornwall and Devon.

For many hikers, the halfway marker is a popular spot for photographs, serving as a memorable reminder of their journey along the South West Coast Path. It’s one of three key markers along the trail, alongside the start at Minehead and the end at South Haven Point.

The coastal paths around Porthallow offer excellent walking opportunities, with breathtaking views of the coastline.
