Visit Pentreath Beach
Pentreath beach is a sandy beach between Kynance cove and Lizard Point on the South Cornwall coast.
Pentreath Beach is not the easiest beach to reach, which contributes to its quiet atmosphere. The only access is on foot along the south west coast path. You have to scramble down a steep path, to access the beach. This challenging descent means that the beach is less frequented, making it ideal for those seeking peace and solitude.
At high tide, the beach is primarily pebbly, but as the tide goes out, it reveals a beautiful sandy stretch. The beach is surrounded by dramatic cliffs, adding to its picturesque setting.
While swimming is not recommended due to strong currents and the absence of lifeguard cover, Pentreath Beach can be a good spot for surfing when conditions are right. The beach is exposed to the full Atlantic swell, making it suitable for experienced surfers not beginners.
Pentreath Beach is dog-friendly year-round, allowing pets to enjoy the sandy shores and rocky outcrops.
