Visit Mullion Cove
Mullion Cove is this charming little harbor located on the west coast of the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall. It was built back in the 1890s and is now owned by the National Trust. The tiny harbor is picturesque, with a small fishing fleet that’s sheltered from the powerful Atlantic storms.
At low tide, there’s a small sandy beach that’s perfect for a bit of sunbathing or just relaxing by the water.
Keep an eye out for wildlife too! You might spot seals and various seabirds, especially around Mullion Island, which is just offshore. It’s a breeding ground for birds, so it’s a great spot for birdwatching—don’t forget your binoculars!
If you’re feeling adventurous, there are some fun activities available. From May to September, you can join kayaking and coasteering tours, which are a fantastic way to explore the coastline from the water. Boat trips and fishing excursions can also be booked right from the harbor, so if you’re into that, it’s worth checking out.
Mullion Cove is a small harbour cove, which looks out to Mullion Island Bird sanctuary. A wonderful spot for nature lovers to visit on the South Cornwall coast.
Close to the beach, there are shops, cafes and restaurants, in the village. Immediately south are three more secluded sandy coves, perfect for a day out at the beach.
Mullion Cove is dog-friendly all year round!
