Housel Bay

Visit Housel Bay

Housel Bay is a small sandy cove surrounded by cliffs near to Lizards Point on the southern tip of Cornwall. It is an amazing place for a remote weekend away, and long coastal walks.

The beach itself is a small stretch of soft, near-white sand, and the water is a gorgeous shade of turquoise. The bay is relatively sheltered, and difficult to access. The path that leads to the beach is steep walk down and you will be clambering over the rocks.

On a calm day you can have a dip in the sea. Make sure you check the tide times as this beach completely disappears at high tide.

If you’re feeling a bit peckish after your beach time, you can pop up to the Housel Bay Hotel, which is perched on the cliffs above. They offer drinks and snacks, and it’s a great place to relax and soak in the views.

The coastal paths around Housel Bay are fantastic for walking. You’ll get breathtaking views of the cliffs and the sea, making it a perfect way to enjoy the natural beauty of the Lizard Peninsula.
