Have lunch at the family-run Gylly Cafe right on the beach, known for its light-filled space and stunning views. They serve a variety of locally sourced dishes, (fish and chips, scallops) from breakfast to dinner.
If you want the best view of Pendennis Castle, head to the south side of the beach to Gylly reef, which is great for crabbing and snorkeling.
The beach is backed by the well maintained Queen Mary Gardens, and the South West Coast Path runs alongside. You sit on one of the many benches and admire the variety of unusual plants in the gardens or take a scenic walks towards Pendennis Point or Swanpool Beach.
Dogs are not allowed on the beach from May 15th to September 30th between 10am and 6pm, but are welcome outside of these hours and during the off-peak months.
