Visit Carleon Cove
Carleon Cove is a charming rocky cove on the South Cornwall Coast. Along the beach you will find the remains of the pilchard fishery, and the area surrounded by woodland.
Head down Poltesco Lane and you will see a sign saying ‘Public footpath to Carleon Cove’ and a small bridge to cross over onto the coastal path.
You can enjoy the unspoilt pebbly beach, explore rock pools, and take in the stunning coastal views. This area to stop off when exploring the Lizard Peninsula, especially at low tide when rock pools are more accessible for exploration.
Wander through the remains of the serpentine factory, which includes structures like the waterwheel and various factory buildings. These ruins provide insight into the industrial history of the area and the once-thriving serpentine industry.
The Poltesco Valley is a wildlife haven, (within the Caerthillian to Kennack coastal Site of Special Scientific Interest) making it a great spot for birdwatching and observing other local fauna. The combination of coastal and woodland habitats supports a diverse range of species.
