Visit Durlston Bay
Durlston Bay just south of the resort of Swanage, on the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset, is a rocky beach backed by cliffs. This beach is a well known fossil hunting spot and attracts experienced fossil hunters throughout the year.
Access to the beach is from the coast guard tower, at Peveril Point. There is risk of cliff falls here so care must be taken when on this beach.
The Durlston Country Park and National Nature Reserve backs the beach and has a visitor centre and gallery in the stunning renovated Victorian castle.
