Visit Nash Point
Nash Point is a beautiful headland located on the Glamorgan Heritage Coast in South Wales. It’s a fantastic spot for visitors who enjoy stunning coastal views and outdoor activities. The area is known for its dramatic cliffs, which are made of Lias limestone, and you can often find interesting fossils along the shore.
Getting down to the beach involves a bit of a scramble over boulders and stones, but once you arrive, you’ll find a lovely, relatively quiet stony beach with patches of sand at low tide.
Parking at the top of the cliffs, and from there, you can enjoy scenic walks – if not a little breezy – to the lighthouse or along the cliffs with beautiful views of the bay.
The iconic lighthouse, which was built in the early 1830s, stands tall and proud, guiding ships safely along the coast. The lighthouse, which was the last manned lighthouse in Wales, has displays and information and a little cafe next door.
As you explore the area, you’ll notice the rich biodiversity that thrives here. The cliffs and meadows are home to various plants and wildlife, including rare species like the tuberous thistle and choughs. It’s a perfect place for nature lovers and birdwatchers.
If you enjoy hiking, the coastal paths around Nash Point provide breathtaking views of the sea and surrounding landscape. You can take a leisurely stroll or a more challenging hike, depending on your preference. The sunsets here are particularly stunning, making it a lovely spot for an evening picnic.
