Porthcawl Seafront Beach

Visit Porthcawl Seafront Beach

Porthcawl seafront beach, also known as Town beach, is overlooked by the Grand Pavallion, and stretches down towards the harbour.

This beach is unusual, in that the top part has been tarmacked over with steps leading down towards the sea. This was part of a flood defense project. When the tide is out you can walk down to the sea, the rocks are exposed and it is a great place for rockpooling.

Stroll along the Esplanade or head down to the harbour by the RNLI Porthcawl Lifeboat Station. Right on the seafront promenade are loads of shops, cafes and restaurants.

Swimming is not allowed here as there are strong tides and no lifeguards.
