Visit West Kirby Beach
West Kirby Beach is a popular sandy beach on the Wirral Peninsula in Merseyside.
The beach has lovely soft, golden sand. It’s perfect for sunbathing, building sandcastles, or just taking a leisurely stroll along the shore.
Bring your swimwear, as it’s great for swimming, especially on warm days. The gentle waves make it a safe spot for families to enjoy the water.
Right next to the beach is the West Kirby Marine Lake, a 52 acre, five foot deep saltwater lake, with a walkway around it. A fantastic spot for watersports like sailing, windsurfing, and kayaking. You can even rent equipment if you’re feeling active!
On the south side of West Kirby Marine Lake, you’ll find the West Kirby Sailing School, a fantastic place for anyone interested in sailing and water sports.
Hilbre Islands
If the tide allows, take a scenic walk towards Hilbre Island. It’s a lovely adventure, and you might even spot some seals swimming nearby! Just remember to leave the island well before the tide comes in.
Great for long walks, West Kirby beach is dog-friendly all year round but must be kept on a lead when on Hilbre Islands.
