Visit Leasowe Beach
On the North Wirral Peninsula lies Leasowe Beach, a wide expanse of golden sand that is perfect for a day out by the coast.
The beach is wide and clean, with beautiful sand dunes and lots of space to explore.
At low tide, a vast expanse of sand is uncovered, stretching as far as the eye can see, providing ample opportunity to explore the beach. However, it’s important to exercise caution, as the tide can return quickly.
Swimming is possible when the tide is in, although it is essential to be aware of the rapid tide changes. There are RNLI lifeguards on duty from 29th June to 1st September.
Despite the absence of facilities, Leasowe Bay Beach has an undeniable wild charm, attracting swimmers and dog walkers alike to its pristine sands.
Backed by the rolling greens of two golf courses and beyond that the rugged sand dunes of the North Wirral Coastal Park, the beach is a haven for those seeking solitude and tranquility.
Overlooking the beach is the historic Leasowe castle built in the late 1500s which now operates as a hotel, offering a unique accommodation option with views of the beach.
The beach is home to the Leasowe Lighthouse, the oldest brick-built lighthouse in the UK, constructed in 1763. It is open for guided tours on specific Sundays from March to November, providing a glimpse into maritime history.
Leasowe Beach is dog-friendly, allowing pets to roam freely, especially during low tide when there is ample space for them to run and play.
