Visit Morecambe North Beach
Morecambe North beach is a sand and shingle beach that forms part of the scenic Morecambe Bay in Lancashire. Famous for being the birthplace of Eric Morecambe and Potted Shrimp, Morecambe Bay is a traditional seaside town on the North West Coast.
There are attractions for the whole family, with amusements for the kids and promenade attractions. Walk along the promenade and take a photo with the Eric Morecambe Statue, and on a fine day explore the bay and take guided walks across the sands.
Morecambe North Beach is ideal for water sports including kite surfing and wind surfing as well, although there are no lifeguards on duty here.
Morecambe Bay area is also well known to birdwatchers and the award winning Tern Project reflects this. The project created award-winning sculptures situated all along the sea front. The whole family can enjoy the series of sculptures and interactive artworks along the Central Promenade and Stone Jetty, celebrating the bird life around Morecambe Bay.
For weekend visitors there are guesthouses along the promenade and the Midlands Hotel nearby.
Dog friendly during the winter but banned from Morecambe’s North and South beaches between 1 May and 30 September.
