Lowestoft South beach, in Suffolk is an award winning coastal spot and a constant favourite with holidaymakers. The beach lies just South of Claremont Pier, and there is loads on offer for all the family.

South Beach is known for its fine sandy stretch and has received a Blue Flag award for its cleanliness and water quality. It is often referred to as Victoria Beach and is the main resort beach in the area.

The beach is backed by a promenade lined with colourful beach huts, cafes, and kiosks selling snacks, ice creams, and drinks. There are things to do with children’s play areas and activities, as well as designated areas for water sports, including diving, and jet skiing.

A seasonal lifeguard service is available from 31st May to 1st September., and it is popular for various watersports, including swimming, windsurfing, and jet-skiing.

Dogs are not allowed on South Beach between May and September.

Lowestoft South Beach Dogs Policy

Bring your pup to the beach! Just be aware of the seasonal restrictions.

Dogs are banned from 1 May to 30 September between South Pier and the CEFAS building. Elsewhere, dogs are allowed and off-lead during the off-season.

Quieter harbour sections suit dogs who prefer calm over crowds.
