Kessingland Beach

Visit Kessingland Beach

Kessingland Beach just south of Lowestoft, in Suffolk, is a large rural beach on a beautiful and unspoilt stretch of coastline. The beach here is sand and shingle, backed by grassy cliffs and windswept dunes.

This stretch of beach is ideal for nature lovers, perfect for birdwatching, walking the dog or simply enjoying the natural surroundings. You will likely see people fishing here too.

You can go kitesurfing at Kessingland Beach! It has ideal conditions with reliable winds, a large shallow area at low tide for beginners, and is recognised as a safe teaching zone.

There are no facilities on the beach, but you can stop in at the Waterfornt, a restaurant on Church road with outside seating and a seaview. For some fish and chips, the pub next door called ‘The Sailors Home’ also has a pub garden.

Kessingland has a choice of coastal family friendly holiday parks. At the southern end of the beach is White House Beach Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite and a Parkdean Resort. As you head north along the beach it becomes more rural.

Kessingland Beach is dog-friendly all year round. Dogs are welcomed, and the beach offers plenty of space for them to run and explore. With its expansive sands and natural dunes, this beach provides a great environment for both dogs and their owners to enjoy the outdoors together
