Greatstone B24 Liberator Crash Memorial
On the South East coast of England, in the carpark at Greatstone beach is an unusual ‘attraction’. (-at the time of writing)
An American War Memorial dedicated to the officers and crew of the B24 Liberator Bomber that crashed on the beach in June 1944.
The plane remained in the bay for a number of years before sinking beneath the silt.
Sadly this unassuming and heartfelt memorial suddenly disappeared in August 2010.
