Dogs enjoy the beaches in Swansea and Gower Peninsula because they offer plenty of space to run around, play fetch, and swim in the water. Many of the beaches are dog-friendly year-round, meaning that dogs can visit without any restrictions during the off-season. Some of the beaches also have restrictions during the summer months, but even then, dogs are often allowed in designated areas. With so many beautiful and varied beaches to explore, dogs and their owners can have a wonderful time discovering all that Swansea and Gower have to offer.

These beaches have restricted access.

Llansteffan Beach is mainly dog friendly. Only the area from the carpark to the castle a designated a dog free zone.

Pendine beach is only dog free in the area between the slipways near the carpark from May to September. The rest of the beach is dog friendly and a great place for them to run around.

Pembrey Beach has a 1 mile dog free area, near the Country Park car park, but the rest of this partof the coastline is dog friendly.

There are no beaches in Swansea that restrict dogs all year.

Dogs are banned from all Blue Flag beaches. Areas which ban dogs will normally be clearly sign posted. There are restrictions in place on main resort beaches between 1st May and 30th September
