Enjoy the coast this Autumn
With an Indian Summer on its way, what better time to get out and enjoy the UK coast. The autumn light and glorious sunsets along with empty beaches are the perfect excuse to take that weekend getaway.
Pack your walking shoes ready to explore the coastline, witness the changing of the seasons, the birds (swallows and martins) flying south and enjoy the last of the sunshine before winter sets in.
At this time of year, nature lovers have a fantastic opportunity to view the wading birds, including knot and bar-tailed godwit, in their tens of thousands at Snettisham in Norfolk, or watch the Grey Seals colony in Lincolnshire as they come to breed near the dunes at Donna Nook (from October – December).
For the more adventurous, October is also the perfect time to go snorkelling with wild grey seals off the Isles of Scilly.
There are annual events and festivals to visit; here is a selection of up coming festivals through October.
