Brighton Marathon
Where: Madiera Drive
The Brighton Marathon gets bigger every year and is now one of the top 12 running events in the UK. The weekend also includes the Mini Mile Races, the BM10K and the Brighton Marathon exhibition and is broadcast on Channel 4

Brighton Fringe
Where: Brighton & Hove seafront
Now the world’s third largest fringe festival, Brighton Fringe runs alongside the Brighton Festival with cabaret, comedy, classical concerts, club nights, theatre and exhibitions, as well as street performances throughout the city. Following the success of last year’s festival the Fringe will have an extra week of events covering the May half-term so don’t forget to look out for the family friendly guide!

London to Brighton Challenge
Where: Brighton & Hove seafront
The London 2 Brighton Challenge returns as one of the UK’s greatest endurance events. Most will walk the 100K or 56K; some will jog it, and many will run it as an ultra-marathon. However you take it on, it’s a test of determination and stamina.

Kipling Festival
Where: Rottingdean
The theme for this year’s festival is Kipling in India in celebration of the 150th anniversary of his birth there. Events will include plays inspired by the author alongside his own material

Brighton Kite Festival
Where: Brighton & Hove seafront
A perfect family event, the Brighton Kite Festival is one of the longest running kite festivals in the UK, flying for over 35 years.

Paddle Round the Pier
Where: Brighton & Hove seafront
A weekend of beach events which gets bigger every year, Paddle Round the Pier invites all kinds of vessels to take to the sea and spectators to enjoy the festivities on-land.

Brighton Pride
Where: Brighton & Hove seafront
This year makes the 25th anniversary of Pride Festival. The celebration of LGBT life in the UK’s ‘gay capital’ includes a huge, colourful Pride Parade through the city with floats, music and amazing costumes, and a big party in Preston Park. Great fun, Pride is open, accessible and suitable for all.
