Visit Kenneggy Sands
Kenneggy Sands is a quiet stretch of coastline on Cornwall’s West coast, located between Praa Sands and Perranuthnoe. Surrounded by rugged cliffs and open sea views, this beach feels far removed from the busier holiday hotspots found elsewhere in Cornwall.
At low tide, a broad expanse of sand is revealed, creating plenty of space for walking and exploring. Rock pools appear along the shoreline, attracting families and nature lovers keen to discover marine life hiding among the rocks. The changing tides continually reshape the beach, making each visit feel slightly different.
The beach lies within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and South West Coast Path runs directly behind.
The beach is popular with walkers following the South West Coast Path. The surrounding cliffs provide excellent viewpoints across Mount’s Bay and towards the Lizard Peninsula on clear days. Photographers are often drawn here by the dramatic coastline, particularly during sunrise and sunset when the light transforms the landscape.
Walkers can walk the coastal path overlooking the beach, there are no facilities and access to the beach is a rocky climb and descent by ladders.
Unlike some of Cornwall’s larger resort beaches, Kenneggy Sands remains relatively peaceful throughout much of the year. Visitors come here to enjoy the scenery, listen to the waves and experience a quieter side of Cornwall’s coastline.
Kenneggy Sands is dog friendly all year round, if you are visiting this beach make sure you check the tide times.
